Leathia Kimbel was born about 1899 in Michigan. She was the daughter of John Wesley Kimbel and Emma Brand.[1]
The Kimbel family was living in Leonidas, St. Joseph, Michigan in 1900. It included the parents, John (age 55) and Emma (age 31) and grandfather, Daniel Kimbel (age 79), as well as several children:[2]

Leathia died 29 April 1903 and was buried in Leonidas Cemetery. The cause of death was probably diphtheria.[1]

Leathia's name is spelled several different ways. Her grave marker has Eathie. It is unclear whether any further records exist to clarify the spelling of her name.
