Research Notes
It appears that Lewis and some of his relatives favored the spelling Kimball, though other close branches of the family used Kimbel. More research is needed.
No birth record for Lewis has been located. A few records use Indiana as the location, though other have it as Pennsylvania. Some have his birth in 1890 (such as the 1900 census) and others as October 1892 (death record). More research is needed.
In appears there is an indexing error on FS in the 1900 census, with a record showing Lewis as a border in the household of George Tobe. However, George is a head of household on the line following Lewis. The accurate reading of the image has Lewis as a boarder in the White household.
Lewis's wife, Caroline, may have been married before. Her maiden name may have been Reed or Reid. More research is needed.
