Biography

William was born as William Kinly on 12 July 1786 in the town of Tranent in the parish of Tranent in the county of East Lothian in Scotland and was baptised on 16 July 1786 with witnesses George Kinly (his paternal uncle) and William Logan (possibly his maternal uncle). [1]
