My husband’s connection is to Mary Kipling who married a Powell hence John Kipling Powell - three of them from Barnard Castle Durham. I am trying to find the connection to Joseph Rudyard Kipling’s family all of Yorkshire.

I have gone way back and still unable to find the connection, but surely there must be one.

Hello Diane, this Kipling is one of my 8G Gfathers. I don’t know anymore than is here on WT. Lots of my family (Coatsworth, Sayer, Bainbridge, etc ) came from Teesdale. Some moved to Weardale and others downstream to the coastal ports. DNA tests will eventually help confirm or not connections between Kipling branches. (There are 13 major, unconnected groups of Littles.)
