Mildred E. "Millie" Ward, age 83 of Waldo, died Wednesday morning at her residence.
She was born May 31, 1923 in Delaware County to the late Earl and Marie (Gale) Knauber.
Mildred was a wonderful wife of James H. Ward whom she married on June 1, 1941 in Greenup, Kentucky.
Millie worked for many years as a bookkeeper at Ohigro with her husband.
She was the loving mother of James W. (Pat) Ward of Hilton Head, SC., Jerry A. (Jackie) Ward of Waldo, and Michael J. (Kerry) Ward of Waldo, the loving grandmother of Jeffery, Julie, Joseph, Karen, Jennifer, Heather and Holly and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters Dee Beardsley of TX, Jane Wood of Ashley, Jean Hines of Westfield, Kate Cook of Galena, Don Knauber of Delaware and Richard Knauber of Augusta, GA.
In addition to her parents Millie was also preceded in death by a brother George Knauber and a sister Ruth Main.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Waldo, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and a member of its Berean Sunday School Class., a member of the Waldo Mother's Club and Millie was an excellent seamstress making dolls for her grandchildren.
