Knickle-409 and Knickle-250 appear to represent the same person because: The same person they appear to represent is my paternal grandmother , Martha Matilda Knickle, born June 5, 1911, in Blue Rocks, N.S. Both profiles contain correct information, but they need to be merged into one profile. I am trying to merge my father, Haughn-55 with his duplicate Hahn-8. They are listed as half brothers but are one person. The problem arises with the Hahn/Haughn name which went back and forth a bit before Haughn was the preferred name. I have already merged my paternal grandfather George Laurier Haughn with his duplicate. I am unable to merge my father and his duplicate until his mother, Martha and her duplicate, are merged. I am the manager of Knickle-409 but I need the approval of the manager of Knickle-250 (Jamie Swindells )to complete the merge. There is also the issue of George Laurier Haughn listed as having a sister, Shirley, who doesn't exist. There are things that need to be addressed and fixed in my father and his father and mother's profile. However, I need permission to clear it up. Probably need to discuss it with Jamie Swindells. They are my direct family line and I can provide dates and places of birth and baptism records to clear up the problem. Sorry for the long narrative but it is hard to explain the situation even though it is simple to fix. I know nobody wants numerous duplicates in the tree because of the change of the name Hahn into Haughn which happened gradually and somehow created duplicates of my grandfather and my father.
