Biography
George Stillman Knight was born at Alexander, Maine, 20 Jan 1833, the son of Alfred Atkins Knight and [[Brown-86000|Hannah Brown;

He married Rebecca Garnet, probably a daughter of John Garnet and Melenda Tuell George and Rebecca had at least five children. George died before 1900 as his wife, Rebecca is a widow in the 1900 census.
NOTE: The 1880, Jackson Brook, Maine census has George indexed with the birth year 1862, but when viewing actual census the record clearly states his age was 48, making his estimated birth year 1832. His wife, Rebecca is also in this census with him as well as sons. Alfred, Milton and William. In the same census, in house next door, their daughter, Emma and her husband William Henry and son Stillman Henry.
