Caroline Sarah Knight was born on 25 May 1852 in Shoalhaven, New South Wales, Australia^[1] and was christened on 23 December 1852 at Kiama, New South Wales, Australia ^[2], the daughter of Joseph Knight and Sarah Ann Vidler. She was the sister of William Huskisson Knight, Joseph Knight, Robert Knight, Amelia Frances Knight, Sarah Jane Knight, Isabella Knight, John Isaac Knight, Edwin Knight and Henry Knight.

She married John Vidler on 4 March 1873 in Kiama, New South Wales, Australia^[3] and was the mother of Sarah Matilda Mercy Vidler, Henry Robert Sidney Vidler, Arthur Edward Ernest Vidler, William Lindsay Vidler, Margaret Amelia Ellen Vidler, Miriam Isabella Mary Vidler, Isaac John Charles Vidler, Eric Norman James Vidler and Carrie Nita Pearl Vidler.

Caroline died on 27 September 1936 in Earlwood, New South Wales, Australia ^[4], and she was buried in the Methodist section of the Rookwood General Cemetery, Rookwood, New South Wales, Australia ^[5][6].
