Biography

Jerusha Knowles was born in 1719/20 in Eastham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts to Colonel Samuel Knowles and Bethia Brown Knowles.

She married Dr. John Whitney, son of Nathaniel Whitney and Sarah Ford Whitney, 20 September 1739 in Eastham. The couple had children John, Josiah, Seth, and Nathaniel Whitney.

Jerusha Knowls Whitney passed away before 1745. Dr. Whitney married Mrs. Margaret Coffin Gardner in the mid-1740s in Nantucket.
