Biography

Nathan Knowles is the son of Eli M Knowles and Louisa West [1].

Nathan married Martha Turner in April 1869. Due to a weak microfilm image and very bad indexing, this record is often missed. Looking at the faint handwriting, the last name is very much KNOLES and not "Kroller" [2]. Nathan and Martha had four children (Martha indicated in 1900 census that she had 4 of 4 children living.)[3][4]

Children

  1. Mary E. Knoles Jan 1870-
  2. Louisa Knoles 1875-1909 m: Lowderman
  3. James Ely Knoles 1876–1939
  4. Jesse Turner Knoles 1877–1964

Nathan's will, signed July 12, 1900, left his property to his wife, and stipulated that after her death the real estate be divided between the four children/their heirs.

Nathan passed away on 28 Oct 1900 in Deer Creek Township, Henry County, Missouri, United States and was interred at Combs Cemetery, Clinton, Henry County, Missouri, United States [5]
