Biography

Katherine Mary Hoffarth was born March 29, 1910 in Wales, North Dakota, the daughter of John and Katherine (Voison) Koehmstedt. She grew up and attended country school in Wales. She married John J. Hoffarth on October 27, 1942 in Langdon, North Dakota. They lived and farmed in Mount Carmel, North Dakota, before moving to the Fisher, Minnesota area, where they lived until moving to Grand Forks in 1954. She took great pride in raising her family and caring for her home. Katherine spent her final seven years under the kind and comfortable care of the staff at Valley Memorial Homes.
