Yost/Justus is not listed in the 1811 Norka census, so if his birthdate is correct in the fields above, then he was not born in Norka. I have replaced his birthplace field with Volga Region until we can determine his exact place of birth.

Yost married Christina Brill, born 1807 in Norka, no later than 1830. Their first child Conrad Kohler II was born in 1831. The couple went on to have at least six documented children:

• Peter, born 1839
• Johannes, born 1842
• Maria, born 1852

At least two of their children died while infants and are not included in the above list.

Both Yost/Justus and his wife Christina died in 1860 in Norka. Because of the timing of their deaths, it's possible they were victims of the third cholera pandemic that swept across Russia between 1850 and 1860, killing more than 1 million Russians.
