Walter L. Kratz, 77, of 1115 S. Dexter Ave., the retired owner-operator of Service Station Equipment and Service, died at 8:30 p.m. Monday (4 Mar 1968) at Deaconess Hospital.
The Shawneetown, Ill., native came to Evansville as a boy and worked as an engineer at the Hotel Vendome and later at Citizens National Bank. He had operated his own business about 30 years before retiring several years ago.
He was a member of Christ Unted Church of Christ and Evansville Masonic Lodge 74.
Survivors Listed
Survivors are the wife, Elizabeth; two daughters, Miss Elvira Kratz and Mrs. Kenneth Johann, both of Evansville; two sons, Richard and Carl; sister Mrs. Elnora Seufer; a brother Chris and six grandchildren, all of Evansville.
Friends may call at Alexander East Chapel after 6 p.m. Tuesday (5 Mar 1968) where arrangements are incomplete.
The family requests donations be made to either the Cancer Fund or to the memorial fund of Christ United Church of Christ.
