Biography

Auguste was born in Prussia in 1873. she was the daughter of Wilhelm (William) Krebs, a farmer in the Rongotea, Manawatu region. and Amelia Ottilie Zierke. Her first name is routinely spelled as Augusta the times it appears. She emigrated to NZ as a child with her parents and siblings aboard the ship "Lammershagen" departing Hamburg, Germany on 1 Apr 1875 and arriving Wellington on 21 Jul 1875. She married Paul Koberstein at Rongotea, Manawatu in 1893. The couple had 3 children together. She passed away in New Plymouth in 1947 and is buried in the Te Henui cemetery.
