Catherine (Köhler) Nielsen was a Volga German.

Catherine Köhler[1] (Keller) was born in 1827 in Stahl am Tarlyk, Russia.[2] Her father was most likely the son to Johann Jacob Köhler (Keller), who died in 1810 in Stahl am Tarlyk, according to 1811 census. A possible father may be Johann Michael Köhler b. 1801 or Johann Georg Köhler b. 1804 in Stahl am Tarlyk.[3]

She married Gottfried Andreas Nielsen.

By 1886 she was living with her son Johann Gottfried Nielsen in Stahl am Tarlyk.[4]

Catherine Nielsen passed away 8 Oct 1890 in Stahl am Tarlyk, Russia.

Keller|Bangert|VGI|Mai Note emailed to family: Going back to 1798 Stahl am Tarlyk census, we find in Household No. 7, Johann Jacob Keller from Bangert, age 40 and wife Magdalena Treu, age 38 with son Johann Andreas, age 5 and then daughters: Elisabetha Katherina, 3 and Christina Jakobina, age 1. Magdalena was the second spouse to Jacob Keller as her children by deceased husband Philip Harr are listed: Nikolaus Simon, 18 and Paul Gottfried, age 13. His daughter Dorothea Margaretha is age 20 and she must be from his first wife. By 1811 census, this same household has Klaus Simon Harr as head of household but died in 1808 (b. 1780) and his brother Paulus Gottfried, age 26 with stepfather Johann Jakob Keller listed but moved to Household No. 65. He died in 1810. 1811 is males only census so no females are listed.
