Biography

Johanne Louise König has German Roots.

Johanne Louise König was born March 11, 1806 in Wittenberg, Germany to Johann Gottfried König and Maria Elizabeth Herzog and was baptized the following day.[1]

In early nineteenth century, many German states passed legislation restricting marriage to those considered by the community authorities as morally and financially capable of rearing a family; this led to an increase in illegitimacy.[2][3] This explains why Johanne Louise wed Gottfried Daniel Gottlieb Friebel only after all of their children had been born, on December 1, 1853.[4]

Johanne Louise König was still alive when her spouse died 1 April 1871.[5]
