Biography

There is no verifiable information at present for this person. The profile is merely to function as a connector between 2 probable brothers. This Unknown Körber was likely the father of Conrad and Peter Körber, and probably from Sinsheim (modern Germany) but could also have been from somewhere else within the Palatinate region of the Holy Roman Empire.

Notes

The origins of the modern "Garber" and "Carver" families in Lunenburg County (and elsewhere in Nova Scotia) appear to lie with the singular Conrad Körber. He was accompanied by an Anna Elisabeth Körberin, but she does not appear to have been his wife.

Conrad (33) is listed as a farmer on the passenger list of the ship "Pearl" on 2 Jul 1751 having started his journey from the Palatinate region of Germany (then the Holy Roman Empire).[1] Along with Conrad is a wife who is not named, and also noted 2 orphaned children; Esther (8) and Michael (7). I am unsure of what relationship they had, entirely possible they were orphaned on the journey to Nova Scotia and adopted by this couple.

Anna Elisabeth Korberin (30) is listed as a widow accompanying this family as well and with Anna are two daughters; Eva Maria and Anna Maria. 1 of the daughters is under 5 years of age as she was not charged as a "half freight" (5-14 years old).

10 years after their immigration in 1763 Anna Maria Kerber married Johann Michael Mosher and she is noted as the daughter of Peter Kerber who is likely the deceased husband of Anna Elisabeth Korberin and brother of Conrad.[2]
