Sarah was born in NJ about 1871 to James P. and Lydia F. Lail. She was raissed in Rockaway, Morris, NJ. [1]
Seh married Christopher Ritter on 22 April 1888 in Rockaway, Morris, NJ. [2]
Sarah was known as "Katie."
Chris & Katie had four children:

- Esther M. (1895-)
- Edith L. (1899-)
- William Henry (1906-1986)
Christopher is said to have died about 1907 and Katie never remarried. Although a death record has not been located yet, there is no sign of him after that. (source needed)
She lived with her son William & his family in Dover, NJ in her later years. She is recorded in the 1950 census at the age of 79 [3]
She died in October 1962 in Rockaway, NJ. [4]
