Biography
Mary Laing was born in about 1775, daughter of Thomas Laing (1742 - 1817) and Ann Unknown (1743 - 1813).
Her siblings were:

- Rebecca Laing ( - 1810)
- Sarah Laing (~1773 - 1814)
Mary married James Richardby on 12 Oct 1800 in Durham, England.[1]
Mary died on 10 Aug 1813 aged ~38.[2]
Inscription: "To the memory of Thomas LAING of Shincliff West Grange farmer who died Decr 9th 1817 aged 75 Also of Ann wife of the above Thomas LAING who died the 6th of June 1818 aged 70 Also four of their children John died Jany 15th 1808 aged 34 Rebecca died Jany 9th 1810 aged 23 Also Mary wife of James RICHARDBY who died Augt 10th 1813 aged 38 and Sarah died May 11th 1814 aged 31"[3]
