David LAIRD •Sex: M •Birth: ABT 1784 in Huntingdon, Huntingdon, Pennsylvania •Death: AFT 1840 in Missouri •Census: 1830 Lincoln county, Missouri

•Note: Note: One of the last mentions found on David Laird in the area of Huntingdon county Pennsylvania was in approximately 1812, when he made an appearance before the Huntingdon county Orphan's Court with regard to a pleading for consideration for inheritance rights in his late father's estate. Shortly after this appearance, it is believed he removed his family to points further west and eventually settled in the area of Troy Missouri. A reference to some diary entries of Johnston and Mary I Russell Laird (his nephew & wife) indicated they were living at Troy Missouri about 1855. The diary was used as a reference by Belva Laird Miller (daughter of Francis Marion Laird, granddaughter of Johnston Laird) in her "History of the Laird Family", which was the genealogical effort done for her induction into the DAR.However, this researcher has been unable to find any copies ofthe diary, and has also been unable to discover who might have inherited it. A photocopy of this "History of the Laird Family"was placed for reference purposes at the Kansas Room in the Hutchinson (KS) Public Library several years ago.
