Biography
Joanna Lempart was born in Silesia, now Poland. She immigrated to America with her parents. She was the first wife of Hans Petersen. She was the mother of five children. Sometime after the birth of her last child, in November 1884, she was declared insane and became an inmate at the state insane asylum in Provo, Utah, where she remained until her death in 1931.
