Biography

Minerva was born about 1843 in Kentucky. Minerva married George Bailey.

In the 1860 United States census, Minerva and George Bailey were living in Proctor, Owsley, Kentucky, United States. George is listed as born in 1833 in Virginia. They had one daughter Mary, born 1850 in Kentucky. Catherine Bailey (age 77, born North Carolina) was also living with them.^[1]

In the 1880 United States census, George and Manervy Baley [sic] were living in Kentucky. George is listed as born 1831 in Virginia, and Minerva, age 36 born circa 1844 in Kentucky. Their children were Martha (born about 1868), Samuel (about 1869), Berry (about 1871), Wesley B (about 1873), Elizabeth (about 1875), John (about 1877) and Hiram (about 1880). Also a widowed sister-in-law Mariah Thompson and children were living with them.^[2]

The marriage of Willie Bailey in 1924 in Kentucky indicates that he was born in 1897 and his parents were Minerva and George Bailey.^[3]
