Biography
Nancy Lantrip was born on August 11, 1816, in Castleberry in Christian County, Kentucky, when her father, Shadrack Lantrip, was 38, and her mother, Catherine Croft, was 27.
She married Thomas Brasher on January 8, 1836, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. [1] They had 11 children in 20 years. in 1850, they were living in Dade County, Missouri. [2] By 1870, they had moved to Benton in Cedar County. [3] In 1880, still in Benton, all their children had grown up and were on their own, but young John McNeal, their grandson, was living with them. [4] After Thomas died in 1896, she moved in with her daughter, Elizabeth, a widow. [5]
She died on September 24, 1907, at the impressive age of 91, and was buried in Jerico Springs, Missouri, in the Brasher Cemetery. [6]
