  4. Reeseville newspaper, Bertha Lau Weber obituary. "FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FRIDAY FOR MRS. C. W. WEBER Lived Practically All of Her Life in This Community---Death Occurred in Milwaukee Again death has extended its hand into the circle of Reeseville's older residents. Though Mrs. C.W. Weber has not resided here during the past two years, she had lived the rest of her life in this community. Her passing is the third death in the ranks of older residents during the past six weeks. Mrs. Weber suffered a paralytic stroke a short time, culminating in her death Wednesday morning at the home of her daughter Mrs. Tillie Benninger at 2645 S. Pine Avenue; Milwaukee, Wis. Mrs. Weber, nee Lau was born January 18, 1852, in Germany. She was united with the late C. W. Weber in 1868. Following their marriage they resided on the farm now occupied by Louis Boetcher five miles south of this village. In 1890 they moved to this village where Mr. Weber became one of the village's leading merchants. Shortly after the death of Mr. Weber in 1929, Mrs. Weber took up her residence with her daughter Tillie in Milwaukee. Mrs. Weber was a kindly woman who made many steadfast friends during her residence in this community. Her cheerful disposition and neighborly spirit made her highly esteemed and respected. Her passing is sincerely regretted throughout this community. Five daughters and one son survive Mrs. Weber. They are Mrs. Lena Hess, Chicago; Mrs. Ida Spurbeck, Mrs. Irma Kuyper, Mrs. Tillie Benninger, all of Milwaukee; Mrs. Ella Runkel, Reeseville; and Dr. R. A. Weber, Chicago. Funeral services were held here Friday afternoon from the home of O.A. Kuel where the body laid in state since Thursday. The Rev. R. P. Kuentzel delivered the funeral sermon. Burial was made in the Reeseville cemetery." Comment: The original clipping comes from Virginia Weber Whitten, who probably got it from her father.
