Adolph was born March 19, 1858 in Switzerland. He immigrated to the United States at the age of 22 in 1880, living first in the East before settling in Nebraska.

At age 26 he married Catherine Ebel on December 7, 1884 in Rhode Island.

He passed away January 1, 1923 Columbus, Platte, Nebraska. He was buried in the Columbus Cemetery located there.
