Walter Raleigh was born in 1897. He was the son of Cumming Lavender and Gussie Cummings.

In the 1910 census Raleigh (age 15), Farm Laborer, was the single son of Cummings Lavender in Irwinton, Wilkinson, Georgia, United States.^[1]

Walter died on 4 December 1944 in Savannah, GA.^[2][3]
