Basile was born on 14 December 1807, and was baptized the same day in Chambly. He was the son of Joseph Lavoie and Marie Anne Lefevre.[1][2] He married Josephte Déragon on 17 January 1837 in Chambly.[3][4] He died on 16 August 1852, and was buried two days later in Saint-Mathias.[5]
