Biography

Elva born September 26, 1884 was the son of John Carr Lawhon and Ellen Gardner.^[1]

On July 2, 1911 he married Amy Hester Burris in Georgetown, Texas.^[2]

Elva graduated from the University of Texas (Austin) Law School and practiced law in Taylor, Texas for 32 years. He served for 6 years on the school board. In 1941, he was named Williamson County assistant district attorney a position he held until 1947 when ill health forced his retirement.^[3]
