Thomas Benton Lawley was b. 4 Nov 1843 in Shelby, AL. He was the son of John Lawley and Mahala Seale.

In the 1850 and 1860 census he was living with his parents in Shelby County, Alabama. Thomas B Lawley married Mary Elliott 6 Dec 1867 Shelby, AL[1]
