Biography

Lake was born in 1905 in Macon Co., NC. He was the son of Miller Ledford and Lula Stanfield.^[1]

Lake married first to Ova Mae Hastings on 8 December 1934 in Rabun Co., GA. ^[2] They had three children. The youngest died at birth or shortly thereafter and was likely buried next to his mother at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Lake married second to Ruth Virginia Anderson on 17 October 1942 in Clarkesville, Habersham Co., GA. ^[3] They had ten children.

Lake registered for the draft in 1940 in Franklin, Macon Co., NC, and was discharged from the US Navy on 23 October 1945. The contact information on his draft registration was "Freman Hasting, brother-in-law." ^[4]

Lake passed away in 1980 and was buried at Longview Cemetery, Franklin, Macon County. ^[5]
