Mark H. Lee was born about 1826 in Louisiana[1] to George Lee and Rachel Clark.

He married Elizabeth Bonds c.1850. In 1860 they lived in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana with four children.[2]

  3. Frances Lee "Fanny" (c.1855)
  4. Solomon "Sol" Lee (1858)[3]
  5. Irene Caroline Lee (c.1862-1914)[4]

In 1870 they were living in Harris, Texas with all six of their children,[5]

but by 1880 they were back in Lake Charles, Calcasieu, Louisiana, and only their youngest remained at home.[6]
