Biography

Sarah Francis (Leedy) Thompson was born on 28 May 1852 in Wythe, Virginia, United States. She was the daughter of Samuel Leedy and Polly repass [Mary Polly Adelaine Repass Leedy]. She came with her parents from Wythe County, Virginia, to Elliott County, Kentucky, in 1858. Sarah married William Alexander Thompson on 16 Nov 1871 in Elliot County, Kentucky. In 1900 they lived in Moccasin, Elliott County, Kentucky, and had become parents of 13 children, of which ten of their children were still living. She was said to be devoted to her family and to the Stark Methodist Church. Sarah passed away on 10 Oct 1921 in Elliott County, Kentucky, United States. She is buried in the Thompson Family Cemetery, Elliott County, Kentucky, USA.
