Elizabeth (Lemon) McClellan is buried in Alton Cemetery, Peel, Ontario, Canada.

Elizabeth was the daughter of Laurence Lemon Lawrence Lemon and Mary Wilson Lemon, Mary Willson they were a prominent UEL family from New Jersey.
The banns for the marriage of Robert McClellan and Elizabeth Lemon were read on 11 May 1833 in Stamford, Upper Canada.
Marriage document states Robert M'Clellan to Elizabeth Lemon, both of Stamford, married by Reverend E Evans on 22 May 1833.
Two sons and five daughters were born to their marriage between 1831 and 1843
Elizabeth died not long after her youngest child Elizabeth was born.

In Memory of Elizabeth Wife of Robert McClellan
Died Apr. 15, 1843, Aged 30 y’rs.

The rest of the inscription is very difficult to read.

Research Notes

No record has been found of her death. Her headstone at the Alton Cemetery is a flat stone and is often difficult to see. As she died before the 1851 Census of Canada, the records for her are few, primarily records for marriages of her children.
