Valentine Leonard II is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A205929.
This Valentine Leonard (Jr.) was the son of the original emigrant ancestor of the U.S. Leonards of this county. His father, born 1718, d: in 1781, murdered at his home by a band of Tories following his service in the Rev. War. He married Elizabeth Wallacher in PA and settled in Davidson Co, N.C. He established the Leonhardt's Church with the help of his friend and neighbor Jacob Berrier in 1753-54 (now known as the Pilgrim Reformed Church).
He died in the part of Rowan County that became Davidson County in 1822.
This Valentine Leonard Jr. married Anna Catherine Sowers, daughter of Phillip Sowers, b: 1757
Buried in the Old German Section, Pilgrim Reformed Church Cemetery in Lexington, Davidson County, North Carolina, USA.[1]
