Probate
Simeon Leonard of Bridgewater, yeoman died intestate and on 4 November 1793, Jonas Leonard of Bridgewater was granted the administration of his estate.[1]
His inventory was taken on 4 November 1793 in Bridgewater.[2]
In 1794, an account of his estate by Jonas Leonard was recorded which included funeral charges, debts collected, debts paid, appraisers, provisions for the family and livestock, and administration fees.[3]
In 1794, James Perkins Jr., of Bridgewater was appointed guardian of his children, Oliver Leonard and Polly Leonard, both above the age of 14 years, and Simeon Leonard and Nahum Leonard, both under the age of 14 years.[4] In 1803, his widow Anna was appointed guardian of their son, Nahum.[5]
