William Lesslie was born in the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)
William and Emmeline Phyllis "Phyllis" Elwin, eldest daughter of Thomas Henry Elwin and Emmeline Mary Primrose, were married on the 26th April 1916, in St. Thomas' Church of England, Narrandera; Rev. Canon Rawling officiated.[2][3]
Their son, William Thomas was born in February the following year, with another son: Ian Wallace, making his appearance in September 1921.
LESSLIE—ELWIN WEDDING
Mr. W. Wallace Lesslie, late of Garra and now of Summer Hill was married recently to Miss Phyllis Elwin, of Narrandera.
After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents.
Later the happy couple left per motor for Junee en route to Jenolan Caves, where the honeymoon is being spent.[4]
The 1930 Sands Street Directory has the family, William using his middle name, living at 17 Tintern Road, Ashfield.[5]
In 1941 William and Emmeline celebrated 25 years of marriage, with a notice of the fact appearing in the Sydney Morning Herald on the 26th April that year.
LESSLIE—ELWIN.—April 26, 1916, at St. Thomas' Church of England, Narrandera, by Rev. Canon Rawling, William Wallace, eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Lesslie, Burwood, to Emmeline Phyllis, elder daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Elwin, Narrandera. Present address: 11 Nicholson Street, Burwood.[6]
William Wallace Lesslie passed away on the 18th March 1952, in Burwood, New South Wales, Australia, one month after his 73rd birthday,[7] and was interred in the Rookwood Cemetery, Rookwood, where his parents and other family members were also laid to rest.[8]
