Biography

Thomas Lewis was born in 1838. He was the son of Robert Lewis and Margaret Clarkson. Thomas was christened in Richmond, Yorkshire, England on 28 April 1838.^[1][2]

In January 1862, he married Mary Grace Brown in Darlington, Durham.^[3][4]

Thomas and Mary had four sons and five daughters:

In 1871^[5] and 1881,^[6] the family were living in Gilling, Yorkshire. Thomas was a farmer.

By 1901, they were in Gateshead, Durham and Thomas was an engineer's machine man.^[7]
