Biography
John was born on 9 Jan 1868 at Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland. John was the son of James Liddle and Elizabeth Johnston.[1]
In 1871 John was living at Bowling Green Street Cottages, Leith North with his parents and six siblings. [2]
In 1891, John lived in Edinburgh St Cuthberts, Midlothian, Scotland, with his parents, James and Elizabeth Liddle. James was a dairyman and John was a carter.[3]
He was married at Armadale, West Lothian, Scotland, in 1894 to Jane Edwards.
In 1901 John was living at 109 South Street, Armadale with his wife and daughter. He was a pit labourer.[4]
