Rosa Ligotino is a Corleone native resident, the daughter of Salvatore Ligotino and Caterina Pampillonia. I estimate she is born around 1747, twenty years before she marries. Based on her reported age at death, she would be only fourteen at marriage.
Rosa marries Leoluca lo Liggio on 17 October 1767. Her parents are both still living.
Rosa and Luca have at least seven children: Nunzia (1768), Paolo (1776), Francesca (c. 1778), Lucia (1779), two sons named Salvatore (1780 and 1784), and Natalia (1781).
Nunzia is born 27 August 1768 and baptized the next day, named after her maternal aunt. Her godparents are Maestro Mariano and Angela Guarneri, a married couple.[1]
Paolo Domenico is born 12 March 1776 and baptized the next day, named after his paternal grandfather. His godparents are Don Vincenzo Garlano and Mariana Ligutino, who is unmarried.[2]
I have estimated that Francesca is 20 years old when she marries.
Lucia is born 8 June 1779 and baptized the next day. Her godparents are Maestro Giovanni Nicolosi and Lucia Milioto.[3]
The first son named Salvatore, after his maternal grandfather, is born 2 August 1780 and baptized the next day. His godparents are Gaspare and Maria Ragusa, a married couple.[4] Salvatore has a brother with the same name, born in 1784, indicating the older boy has died by this time.
Natalia is born and baptized 24 December 1781. Her godparents are her maternal uncle Nicolo' Ligotino and his wife, Laura.[5]
The second son named Salvatore is born and baptized 19 December 1784. His godparents are Ignacio and Concetta Baglio', a married couple.[6]
Death of Rosa
Rosa dies, reportedly at age 40 (b. 1753) on 22 June 1793.[7]
Francesca marries Giuseppe Arnone on 20 May 1798. Luca is still living.
Paolo marries Rosalia Greco, a widow, on 26 October 1799. Luca has also died by this time.
Paolo dies, reportedly at age 65 (he is 56) on 22 December 1832. His wife survives him.
