Pehr Eric (Lillja) Lilja was born on 16 Jun 1815 in Sala stad, Västmanlands län, Sweden. He was the son of tanner/garvare Mathias Lillja and his wife.
He married Stina Cajsa Berglund in 1835. They had children:

- Carolina (1839-1849)
