John Lilleyman, son of James & Elizabeth, was baptised on 12 September 1852 in Northampton, Northamptonshire, England. ^[1] His mother's maiden name was recorded as "Mace" in his birth registration in 1852 (3rd Qtr) at Northampton. ^[2]

In 1854 John (age 1) emigrated to Australia with his family on the ship "Rodney", arriving in Port Jackson, Sydney, New South Wales on 15 March 1854. ^[3]

John married Margaret Manning in 1881 at Warialda, NSW. ^[4] John and Margaret had 10 children:
