Lavina Virginia (Limbaugh) Estes died in Sikeston, Mo., November 10, 1901, at the residence of W. C. Bowman, and her remains were brought on the 11th to Jackson on the train where a few of the friends met them. She was taken to her home in Burfordville and on the 12th the funeral was preached by Rev. Davault, and her remains were laid in rest in the Old Gravel Hill cemetery. Grandma was born in Bollinger County, Missouri, in 1832 and was the daughter of Jacob Limbaugh (?-?). She was united in marriage to Joseph Hezekiah Estes Jr. (1828-1884) in 1847. To their union were born ten children, of which four are still living, and she leaves twenty-one grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She united with the Baptist church at Burfordville in August 1877. Snd: The Sisters of the Church.

Mrs. Lavina L. Estes died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. C. Bowman, at Sikeston, on Sunday, the 10th. Mrs. Estes made her home with her son, Mr. J. H. Estes, at Burfordville, and was visiting her daughter at the time of her death. She was the widow of the late Joseph Estes, and died aged 68 years. Her remains were brought home and buried in the Gravel Hill cemetery on the 12th.
