Lily was issued a Nursing certificate in June 1908 in Wellington, New Zealand.[1]
She trained as a Nurse and when WW! broke out she and a friend volunteered to serve in the French Flag Nursing Corps (FFNC) nursing the many French casualties. Sadly she contracted tuberculosis and was on her way back to New Zealand on the Hospital ship SS Maheno when she died.
She was awarded the Croix de Guerre for her wartime service
Lily was in a military record.[2]
She passed away in 1916 and was buried at sea. .
Lily died on 21 November 1916 and was buried in Park Island, Hawkes Bay, Napier.[3][4]
