The death occurred on Sunday morning last of an old and highly respected identity of the district in the person of Mr. John Lindsay, of Moss Vale, at the advanced age of 87 years. The late Mr. Lindsay was a native of Ireland, and came to Australia when quite a boy. For many years he resided on the South Coast, and 53 years ago settled at Kangaloon, whence he came from Shellharbour. He was engaged in farming pursuits, and after removing to Meryla he came with his family to live in this town. A widow and family of three sons and four daughters, and a great many grand children, survive him. The remains were interred in the C. of E. portion of the general cemetery on Monday afternoon, the Rev. A. C. Corlette officiating at the graveside.
