5th Regiment, Tennessee Cavalry (McKenzie's) Alfred was born in 1833. He passed away in 1863. Husband to Rebecca (McKissick) Lingerfelt (1832-1912). They had five children: Matilda, William, Elizabeth, Martha and Mary Ann.
Alfred's descendants started using the last name "Link" around WWI to be less "Germanic." It doesn't appear that Alfred used Link and stayed with Lingerfelt.
