Ellen was baptised on 4 May 1818. She was the daughter of Richard Liptrot and Sarah (Howarth) Liptrot.
When Ellen was 20 she married on 24 February 1839 in Wigan, Lancs.
Ellen died at the age of 81 on 9 August 1899 in Billinge, Lancashire, England.
Ellen was buried on 11 August 1899 in Salem Concregational Church, Orrell - plot C3.
