Allen Fisher was born in 1919. He was the son of Christopher Lissette and Edith Pilling. [1]

PILOT-OFFICER A. F. LISSETTE Reported as missing, believed killed, on active service, Pilot-Officer Allan Fisher Lissette is the son of Mr and Mrs C. Lissette, of McFarlane Street, Hamilton East. He was born at Morrinsville 24 years ago and was educated at the Hillcrest and Hamilton Technical High schools. A fine all-round sportsman, he captained the first eleven and the first fiftf> een while at school. A promising cricketer, he played for the Hamilton cricket club, and he was a member of the Old Boys’ Rugby Football Club. Other sports in which he was interested were tennis and badminton. At the time of his enlistment in the Royal New Zealand Air Force Pilot-Officer Lissette was employed by Messrs W. and R. Fletcher, Limited. He gained his wings in New Zealand and left for England in February, 1942. During the past 12 months he had done much flying and recent advice indicated that he had been promoted to the rank of flying officer.[3]
PILOT A PRISONER (0.C.) HAMILTON, this day. Official advice has been received by Mr. and "Mrs. C. Lissette, of Hamilton East, that their youngest son, Flying-Officer Allen Fisher Lissette, previously reported missing, is a prisoner in Germany. Flying-Officer Lissette was prominent in Rugby, cricket, tennis and badminton circles. He left for overseas in February, 1942. and was a fighter pilot stationed in the South of England. At the time he was reported missing he was shot down over Albania.[4]
Seasoned Side Maturity and experience abound in the Northern Districts team which is contesting this season’s Plunket Shield series. The average age of the 13-man squad is just over 30, with A. F. Lissette, the Waikato and. former New Zealand left arm spin bowler, admitting to 43 years. Another former New Zealand representative, D. D. Beard, will attain a similar age this month. Four members at the squad are in their 30's:—B. Sutcliffe, 39, K C. Petrie. 35, N. Puna, 33, and B. H. Pairaudeau, 31, while D. B. Clarice and G. D. Alabaster are both 29. The youngest member of the side is P. B. McGregor, whose 21st birthday coincided with his century against Auckland.[5]

Allen Fisher Lissette, who died suddenly in Hamilton, NZ, on January 24, aged 53, played in two Test matches for New Zealand during the 1955-56 tour by the West Indies. A slow left-arm bowler, he assisted the Hamilton and Waikato clubs for many years after the Second World War, in which he served in the R.N.Z.A.F. and was awarded the M.B.E. for work in forming the 7th Squadron of the Air Training Corps in Hamilton. He represented first Auckland and then Northern Districts in the Plunket Shield competition. He played cricket up to the 1972-73 season when he suffered a heart attack during a match in October. [7]
