Henry was the second child of Tristram and Sarah Dole Little, born on the last day of the year 1710 in Newbury, Massachusetts.[1] He married his first cousin, Lydia Little, in that same town on December 7, 1738.[2]The couple was noted for their hospitality according to family genealogist George Thomas Little. They had eleven children according to the records of Newbury, ten of whom survived to adulthood.[3]
Henry is reported to have been a man of tremendous physical strength, moral character and piety. He was a farmer by trade and maybe somewhat simple in the ways of the world and yet, retained his inherited acreage throughout his life.[4]Henry died near the end of 1786 in Newbury, however, existent records are lacking concerning exactly what day or even month. One account gives his burial as November 25 while another gives death during the month of December.[5][6]
