Biography

Elinor was born around 1795 and grew up at Trawsgoed, Llangwm.

Ellin married Hugh Roberts of Llangwm in 1824.

On the censuses of 1841 and 1851 Ellin was living at Ty tan y ffordd, Llangwm, with her husband, children and her parents. Her husband Hugh passed away in 1853 and she is mentioned the following year on the intestate bond, along with her son Cadwaladr. Ellin remained at Ty tan y ffordd, as recorded in the census of 1861.

In 1871 Elinor Roberts was working as a servant in Garthmeillio Hall. This could be her because her son Cadwaladr was living at Garthmeillio Villa in 1881 and working as a Mole Catcher.

Elinor was still living in 1881, where she can be found on the Census for Rodyn, Llangwm, along with her daughter Ellen. Ellen, the daughter, was living alone at Rodyn, according to the censuses of 1891 and 1901. So it can be assumed probable, that Ellin senior died between 1881 and 1891.
