Edmund was born on 22 Aug 1853[1] in Prince Edward, Virginia, United States.[2][3] He was the son of Christopher C. Lockett and Judy A.[3][4] Blanten.[4][1]
Edmund was said to have served in the Army of Northern Virginia for the Confederacy, however no records have been found to verify this. He may have been too young and served as a water boy or messenger for a family member.[1]
He was married to Eliza Octavia Bass[2] (E.O. Price by her first marriage) on 24 Oct 1878 in Washington, Texas, United States.[5]
Edmund brought his family to Pasadena, California in about 1886. He served on various Pasadena City and Republican political committees and was a City trustee, and also manager for the Blinn Lumber Company. In 1899 he was the Mayor of Lockettville in Fresno County engaging in oil exploration. He moved back to Pasadena about 1901 and a few years later founded E. Lockett & Sons, dealing in building materials.[1]
Find A Grave indicates that Edmund's middle name was Blanton and is wife was Eliza Octavia Bass, however the Bio from Mountain View says middle name was "C" and wife was Lucy. Birth and death dates match. FamilySearch has him marrying Eliza Bass in 1878 and he's buried with her. Might Lucy have been a first wife?
